Generations at Sea
Mark, the owner, is a Master Mariner and Chief Engineer Officer, the only person in Ireland to hold this dual qualification. He has been navigating the waters around Howth for most of his life, first handling boats to Ireland’s Eye at just nine years of age.
In 2023, the company celebrated 20 years in business. What began with our popular Ireland’s Eye Tour has grown to include three cruise experiences, including the original Ireland’s Eye Ferry and the much loved Sunset Cruise.

We are proud to be an award winning tour operator and one of the top rated tours in Howth. Mark, the owner, is both a Master Mariner and a Chief Engineer Officer, holding dual maritime qualifications. Having grown up around the harbour, Mark has been navigating boats to Ireland’s Eye since he was just nine years old.
In 2023 the company celebrated 20 years in business. What began with the much loved Ireland’s Eye Tour has grown to include a selection of coastal experiences, including the original Howth Cliff Cruise and the popular Sunset Cruise, giving visitors several ways to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Howth coastline.

We are the only ferry company permitted to land on Ireland’s Eye, giving visitors the opportunity to step ashore and explore the island’s unique landscape, wildlife and coastal scenery.
Our experienced skippers have extensive knowledge of Ireland’s Eye, the Howth cliffs and the surrounding waters, and share fascinating insights and local stories through the commentary during our tours.

The Ferryman
Mark Doyle
Mark is both a Master Mariner and a Chief Engineer, holding dual maritime qualifications. He has spent most of his life on the waters around Howth and was already handling boats to and from Ireland’s Eye at just nine years of age. His family’s connection to the island goes back to 1947, when his grandfather first began the ferry service.
With more than 30 years of experience welcoming passengers on the water, Mark has built a strong reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable tour operator. His lifelong connection to Howth and deep understanding of the coastline bring a unique level of expertise to every journey.
