Yes, dogs are welcome on board as long as they are kept on a lead. However, dogs are not permitted on the ferry that lands on Ireland’s Eye, as the island is a protected bird sanctuary.
Yes, our boats are accessible for manual wheelchairs. Boarding is via a passenger pontoon. Unfortunately, landing on Ireland’s Eye is not wheelchair accessible. If you would like to discuss accessibility, please contact us at howthcliffcruises@gmail.com.
If you wish to land on Ireland’s Eye, please book the direct ferry to the island. Landings begin on 17 April 2026. Please note that landing is at the captain’s discretion and depends on weather and sea conditions. If landing is not possible, you will have the option to join another boat tour or reschedule.
We accept walk ons subject to availability, however we strongly recommend booking online in advance.
You only need to bring yourself and your booking confirmation. We do recommend wearing suitable footwear and a jacket or rain jacket. All of our vessels have rain canopies and/or indoor cabins.
You can leave buggies securely on the pontoon and collect them when you return from the tour.
No, life jackets are provided on board and are available for all passengers in case of emergency.
Puffins nest on Ireland’s Eye from March to July and are usually spotted along the cliffs at the back of the island. The Ireland’s Eye and Howth Coast Tour offers the best chance to see them, though sightings cannot be guaranteed.
